Bifurcation (2020)

Choices. You are free to choose. As we delve into the depths of our self-knowledge process, the paths fork at various times. But every Bifurcation brings with it a break. Cracks. Many of them literal, others more subtle and others that we need to do it. Fissures in the wound brings the clarification that the time has come when we need to do like São Tomé in the Caravaggio's work  and put our finger on our own wounds. What do we're not putting on the table, what are we bringing to the table? Is the fight over? Has it  not even started yet? It has begun? Are we still far away? Are we close? Why is our present still imagery when our future is sound and textual and has been available to us for a long time? The listening. What impact does a voice have? A voice without image.

A dialogue extracted from a live broadcast in July 2020, at the time of the culmination of the biggest pandemic we have ever experienced. We were separated from each other but stayed together through technology and image. It's our pillar. But do we know how to use the tools we have? A break is needed. It took a separation for us to rethink. Lifestyles, habits, routine, ways of working, economy model, urbanism and urban mobility. But above all this comes and must come: what sustains us. Our base, our essence, our individuality.

Without it, we just exist in the first place, and existence becomes unsustainable when our foundation is flawed. Would this then be the invitation to finally look at our SELF? The paths fork. There are, perhaps, always two truths, but which one do we choose to tell ourselves? And how are we telling this to our future generations? For the kids, for generation X, Z, A. Are we really looking at this or are we just looking instead of seeing and practicing listening?
